We just wanted to send out a note to remind you that today is the last day to register for the Elite Challenge Player showcase to insure you receive the appropriate color t-shirt. Each graduation year will have their own t-shirt color, allowing college coaches to differentiate between classes.
With that said, we are not yet closing registration. Registration will remain open until Thursday January 14th or until we fill registration. There are still approximately 15 spots left for athletes who want to participate!
Athletes will need to be at the Upward Star Center by 4:30pm on the 15th.

Team Information
Check-In
Team check-in will take place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center and Upward Star Center on Friday, January 15th from 6 – 8pm.
Starting Saturday morning from 7 – 7:45, and Saturday afternoon from 12:30 – 1:45 teams can check in at all playing locations.
Required: A coach or team rep must present a roster and JVA Coaches check-in sheet to receive player badges and coaches wristbands. A maximum of 15 player badges and 3 staff wristbands are allowed.
*Players must present badge at all times entering or leaving the tournament. Coaches must have the wristbands on. Lost or misplaced team wristbands or badges must be replaced for $25.
General Information – All Teams
Doors will open at 7am. There will be no coaches meeting at the start of the tournament, Teams should check in and report directly to their court. Tournament will have an AM and PM wave format. Specific team schedules will be available the week prior to the tournament. AM wave will start at 8:00 am and PM wave will start at approximately 2:30 pm. Pool play on Saturday and Sunday will be followed by playoff brackets on Monday. The event will use AAU competition rules. Libero will be allowed to serve. Division GOLD winners will receive a Champion t-shirt and medals. GOLD second place will receive medals. All other bracket winners will receive medals.

Match Play
All matches will be best 2 out of 3 (25-25-15) and all matches are starting at 0. There will be no cap. Warm-ups will be 2 (shared) 4-4.
Tie breaks
In Myrtle Beach all ties will be broken by the computer on Saturday. On Sunday any 3 way tie to determine the GOLD bracket (only) will be a one game to 25 playoff. Tie for 1st, 2nd, 3rd will be a one game to 25 playoff. First will be determined by the computer and 2nd and third will play-off. 3 way ties for 2nd will require 2 play-off games. 2nd place gets a bye and plays the winner of 3rd and 4th.

Officiating
An R1 is provided for the matches. Teams are required to work matches including an R2 and should come prepared with whistle. A scorebook and pens/pencils will be provided. A working team is R2, scorekeeper, score flipper, libero tracker (if needed) and line judges. A coach who is not officiating must be present at the score table. Every effort should be made to keep play moving. Captains will be called within two minutes of the end of the previous match.
No Ball Handling inside any of the tournament facilities.
Parent Information
Food Tables / Coolers / Chairs
No food tables, coolers, or outside chairs are allowed inside the tournament facilities. Each location will have concessions and food options on-site. In Spartanburg (only) you will be able to set up tents and tables outside. They are very generous in allowing this so be sure to keep area clean.
Teams can bring water and snacks in backpacks. Myrtle Beach Convention Center does have outside picnic tables. Teams are allowed to bring food, eat, and clean the table immediately after. No team can claim the tables for themselves.
Shirt and Merchandise Sales
Shirt and Merchandise sales will begin Friday from 6 – 8 pm at Upward Star Center and the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Sales will continue Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at all playing locations until supplies are gone. Come early for best selections. Short sleeve event tee $20, long sleeve $25, Sweat Shirt $30.
Ticket Sales
(12 and under free)
A $10 per day or $20 weekend pass admission will be charged at each facility for spectators. Wristbands can be purchased on Friday from 6 – 8pm at Myrtle Beach Convention Center and Upward Star Center. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday admission tickets are available each day at all playing locations. Wristbands must be worn at all times and are non-refundable. Any lost or stolen bands must be re-purchased.
Parking
Myrtle Beach is $5 per vehicle per day. No parking fee will be charged at the Upward Star Center.
No Tolerance Policy
The Winter Bump will enforce a no-tolerance policy for unsportsmanlike behavior by spectators or players. This includes loud or rude comments to players, coaches, and officials. Any attempt to distract a server during the toss will not be tolerated. Consequences may include removal from the event or point penalties. Penalties do not require a warning if deemed severe.
Play Schedules
Tournament will use AES for all tracking of results and play schedules for the Tournament. Schedules will post the week before the event. Each location has its own schedule. www.advancedeventsystems.com
